Jewelry confirms July comeback
After the exit of Park Jung Ah and Seo In Young from Jewelry, nothing has been heard about the group and the 2 remaining members, Kim Eun Jung and Ha Joo Yeon.
But together with news of Seo In Young’s solo comeback at the end of April, Star Empire also revealed that Jewelry will be returning.
Star Empire expressed on the 13th, “The new Jewelry will stand before their fans this coming July. We are currently doing some final coordination between the current and new members. Please wait in anticipation for a brand new Jewelry as they will bring something that’s different from what is being displayed in the industry.”

They will continue their entertainer activites with Star Empire in the future.”
It was revealed that the duo recently received many proposals from other entertainment companies after their contract with Star Empire ended. Some agencies even offered them billions in KRW worth if they sign up with them. But the 2 decided to stay with Star Empire who discovered and saw them through their development as entertainers, and continue under their management.
The rep said, “There are plans for Park Jung Ah and Seo In Young to get busy with various activities. Park Jung Ah will promote both as a singer and actress. And Seo In Young is preparing as a solo singer.”

►►SNSD’s HyoYeon is the champion runner of girl groups
So talented yet so underrated in SNSD… yay for some HyoYeon publicity! lol
Today(24th), in the filming of KBS 2TV’s “Let’s Go Dream Team 2,” located at DanGook University’s gym, Hyoyeon won 1st place in girl group 100M sprint.
In this day’s 100M sprint, Hyoyeon went against popular girl groups like Brown Eyed Girls(Narsha, Ga-in), Kara(Nicole, Han Seungyeon), Secret(Jun Hyosung), SNSD(Sunny, Tiffany), and Jewelry(Ha Jooyeon, Kim Eunjung) and won 1st place.
Hyoyeon showed her great athletic performance this day, like going ahead of her fellow member, Tiffany, leaving a great length difference. Also, she was cheered by the fans by giving them a memorable race with skilled players like Ha Jooyeon and Jun Hyosung.
After the race, at a prepared interviewing area, Hyoyeon said, “The members threatened me that I can’t go back to the dorm if I can’t win 1st place in Dream Team.” She also revealed, “My mom sent me herbal medicines when she heard that I was going on the show, and I think it helped a lot.”
Adding to Hyoyeon’s comment, Tiffany stated, “Three of our members came out on the show, but when other members heard that Hyoyeon was one of them, they were relieved.” Tiffany then smiled at Hyoyeon, gave her a thumbs up and told her that she was proud of her.
On a side note, this special episode of “Let’s Go Dream Team 2” will air end of February.

►►Jewelry to hold open auditions in February
Although I think letting go of Park Jung Ah and Seo In Young was a big mistake, I’m gonna be optimistic and see how the ‘younger generation’ of Jewelry do 🙂
Already a week has gone by since Park Jungah and Seo Inyoung performed for the last time as 4-member group Jewelry.
Park was an original member since Jewelry’s debut in 2001, and Seo joined a year later for their second album. On the 10th they performed ‘Love Story’ for the last time with their juniors Kim Eunjung and Ha Juyeon on SBS’s Inkigayo.
On the 13th, Park and Seo also hosted the showcase for new idol group ZE:A ( also under the same company) and are planning to take a break while slowly preparing their own solo albums. Despite leaving Jewelry they will remain under Star Empire Entertainment and plan to lead very active solo careers.
So then what is in store for the ‘younger line’ who joined Jewelry in early 2008?
For the time being, Kim Eunjung and Ha Juyeon will not be standing on stage as singers; they will be greeting viewers through variety programs.
Kim is currently a regular member on cable channel MBC Everyone’s ‘Infinite Girls Season 2,’ and is solo MC of E!TV’s ‘E! News Korea.’ Ha is also similarly appearing Monday thru Fridays on Mnet and KMTV as MC for ‘Golden Hit Song.’
Kim and Ha will also be present at the auditions for new Jewelry members this coming February.
On the afternoon of the 17th, a Star Empire Entertainment representative stated, “Auditions to fill the gap left by Park and Seo will take place in mid-February, and of course opinions of current members will also be taken into consideration.”
If all goes well currently 2-member Jewelry might gain new members by the end of February. In this case, we might be able to see the new Jewelry sooner than expected.

It’s quite sad…these two ladies are like the force of Jewelry. Though the group has changed their members a few times before, they are the two who have stuck like glue to it..until now T^T
Park JungAh and Seo In Young will have their last and goodbye stage with Jewelry on 10th January.
This period of album promotions will be the last for the 2 before they will leave the group for their solo careers, and coming 10th January on SBS Inkigayo they will officially end their activities as part of Jewelry.
According to a Star Empire staff on 6th January, “Park JungAh and Seo In Young will leave Jewelry after this week’s broadcast performance. Since it is their last performance as Jewelry, they are preparing a memorable performance for fans.”
There are plans for Park JungAh and Seo In Young, who have been in Jewelry for the past 9 and 8 years respectively, will have their solo career after this. They will continue to show their affection for their junior Jewelry members, and new members will be added to the group for the birth of ‘new’ Jewelry.

This year’s MBC Gayo Daejun will take place at the MBC Dream Center on the 31st. The MC’s are Kim Gura, Lee Bo Young, and Shin Jung Hwan but what you should be excited about is the line up.
It’s definitely going to be hard to beat SBS Gayo Daejun’s line up but with the 2PM and SNSD joint stage, it might be possible.
2PM also is planning on having a dance battle with Park Jin Young which will be interesting since both of them are known to be excelling in dancing. 2PM’s Taecyeon will also be performing together with SNSD’s YoonA.
Jewelry will put on a memorable and touching performance with Park Jung Ah and Seo In Young. Other than Jewelry, other girl groups will perform to show their unique looks and this year’s hit songs.
Baek Ji Young will perform My Ear’s Candy with Lee Seung Gi instead of Taecyeon. Awkward Lee Seung Gi grinding with Baek Ji Young, interesting.

►►Park Jung Ah cried after knowing she caught the swine flu
and I thought no more swine flu news would come up by the end of this year…
News of Park JungAh being confirmed of swine flu while doing her last promotional activities as Jewelry has got many netizens feeling sorry for the singer.
Park JungAh has been hospitalised for exhaustion and flu symptoms on 21st December. And following, she has been confirmed of swine flu at the hospital in Seoul.
It is known that Park JungAh had teared feeling sorry that she cannot be with the other members on her last promotional activities with the group.
Jewelry is currently promoting their 6th repackaged album, and members Seo In Young and Park JungAh will go solo after this.

Jung Ah is one of the 2 older members of Jewelry who will be leaving the group soon 😦
Due to exhaustion from flu, all activities on 21st December for Park JungAh has been cancelled. It has been confirmed that it is not a swine flu case.
A staff said, “Park JungAh collapsed during a filming on 21st Dec from dawn. The cold weather and her flu has caused the exhaustion. And she has been going through a lot mentally about leaving Jewelry. She is sad about leaving a group after 10 years. Even though she is leaving for herself and Jewelry, she still feels sad about it.”
She was sent to the hospital immediately, and the schedule for the rest of the day was cancelled.

The last song ‘Love Story’ featuring members Park JungAh and Seo In Young as part of the group Jewelry has been released.
Jewelry released their 6th repackaged album ‘End And…’ on 17th December on online music sites.
‘End And…’ meant the ending and a new challenge for both members after they will leave the group. The song is produced by famous producer Jo YeongSoo and Ahn YeongMin. It is said to suit the winter season and is a medium tempo ballad, something different from the usual dance songs that Jewelry will do.
The group will have their comeback stage on 18th December on KBS Music Bank.

Seo In Young and Park Jung Ah, the only two original members left in the 4 member group Jewelry, have decided that it was their time to leave the group.
Representatives from Star Empire Entertainment, Jewelry’s entertainment label, have stated that after the promotions of Jewelry’s repackaged 6th album “Love Story” are over, Seo In Young and Park Jung Ah will leave the group.
Park Jung Ah commented:
“We have performed as Jewelry for almost 10 years and a lot has happened since that time. I am most proud of the fact that we made Jewelry into an icon. Although we are finishing, Jewelry is not and I will actively support the new Jewelry.”
Each of the women have decided to continue with their solo careers, which is probably a good choice considering the lack of a comeback Jewelry had and the fact that Seo In Young is doing great without the group with her digital single “Can’t I Love.”
The search for new members for Jewelry will begin with the new year.
Star Empire has been on the fritz lately with it’s lack of a budget plan for Child of Empire, V.O.S leaving the company and the arguable failed comeback from Jewelry. Just last year, “One More Time” dominated the charts which is far from what “Vari2ty” did. To go from the top of your game and comeback as the group that went by unnoticed has got to be hard.
Best wishes to Star Empire in the future and hopefully the new Jewelry will be as or more successful (and hopefully hotter) next time around.
