The Korean Pavillion Opening plans include Korean Day Activities on May 1st and 26th, Korean Weekend Activities (May 27th-May 29th), Korea-China Diplomatic Memorial Activities (August 15th), which will be host all at once.
Other events include Taekwondo demonstrations and korean music-related contents, in which Super Junior, BOA, f(x) and others of the sort will be attending with Chinese performers at the Korean Music Festival (May 30th).
Meanwhile, TVXQ’s Yunho is chosen as the representative for Korea at the same event.

Singer BoA gets kissed by a female fan during her fansigning session.
Currently on various portal sites, photos of BoA looking flustered after being kissed on the cheeks by a middle aged female fan are being circulated by fans and netizens.

►►SM Entertainment goes under investigation for unfair contract terms officially!
Korea’s Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) has announced that they are currently investigating all celebrities bound to SM Entertainment regarding unfair contract terms, suggesting that “a second TVXQ scandal” like event may occur.
According to One Nation’s Jo Moon Hwan, it was revealed that KFTC is investigating cases of unfair contract terms in SME idols such as TVXQ (including Junsu, Changmin and Jaejoong who are currently in legal disputes with their management company), SNSD, Super Junior, etc. for a total of 53 SME celebrities.
Jo Moon Hwan stated that the question and answer document received from KFTC specified investigations for all SME affiliated individuals for reasons related to a delay in taking care of TVXQ’s legal case. KFTC expressed,
“Through this event all celebrities in SME will undergo investigations to see if their contract terms go against the law of established fair contract terms, which is why TVXQ’s legal dispute is being delayed.”
Additionally, the commission said regarding TVXQ’s case, “All related documents will be carefully reviewed and considered for an appropriate outcome,” not revealing at what point the case would be over.
As you readers know, SM Entertainment has recently experienced many difficult trials as three members in TVXQ and Super Junior’s Hankyung underwent legal battles for problematic contract terms such as its 13 year length and unfair distribution of album sale profits.

►►BoA to make Korean comeback in August for 10th anniversary!
oh dang I’m excited! I have always wanted to see BoA perform in Korea for a long time and now it has come true! >.<
With her 10th debut anniversary coming up, singer BoA will be back in Korea releasing a new album.
Coming 25th August, BoA will release a full-length album in Korea and start promotional activities. This will be her comeback in Korea 5 years since her last album ‘Girls On Top’ released in 2005. And in lieu of her 10th debut anniversary, she wishes to have grand comeback in Korea. Currently, BoA is doing her Japanese concert tour after the release of her 7th Japanese album ‘Identity’ released in February. After the concert tour, she will start preparations for her domestic comeback.
SM Entertainment revealed on 1st March, “2010 is the 10th debut anniversary for BoA. She will release a new album and meet with fans after 5 years since her ‘Girls On Top’ album. The comeback date will be symbolic 25th August.”
For her recent Japanese album, BoA participated as a producer for the first, to better show her own colours and charms in the album. And as for her comeback album, the SM rep said, “There is possibility for BoA to participate as producer for this new album to better showcase her own unique music style. It will be decided through our discussions for the album.”
And as for her American promotions, BoA debuted with the song ‘Eat You Up’ in 2009 and for 2010, the SM rep revealed, “She will continue with her American activities. Even now, Lee SooMan producer is seeing to BoA’s promotions in the States.”

Tamaki Hiroshi aka Chiaki Shinichi from Nodame Cantabile (SeungRi’s fav Japanese Drama) talked about BIGBANG, TVXQ, BoA and K-Pop on his recent visit in Seoul that “BIGBANG and Tohoshinki are cool. I want to work here in Korea.” and “I think it’s great that they are having the activities in Japan. Since there aren’t so many Japanese artists have performed in Korea, I hope I can do that in my upcoming concert.”
Tamaki was in Seoul on 29- 31 January, 2010 to promote “Tamaki Hiroshi Live Tour 2009-2010 Alive in Seoul” which will be held in Korea in March 2010. He’s got a large fanbase in Korea and I guess that SeungRi’s one of them?!

►►SM Entertainment to continue Global Auditions
After all the noise rackets about DBSK and Super Junior lawsuits, SM is still gonna be hiring…
SM Entertainment, the company that manages BoA, TVXQ and Super Junior, will be holding their “2010 SM Entertainment Global Auditions in Korea” from 16 January to 21 February.
This time, the auditions will be held in 11 regions across the nation, like Seoul, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan, Gwangju, Incheon & Suwon.
SM Entertainment said, “The global auditions which will be held in Asia and the United States, will begin with the auditions held in Korea.” They also said that “the first global auditions was held in 2006, and Super Junior’s Henry and f(x)’s Amber were contracted through these auditions”.
They said that age or nationality does not matter, and the departments that Asian candidates can apply for comprise singing, dancing, acting, modelling and composition.

In relation to 3 TVXQ members, Junsu, Jaejoong, and Yoochun who filed injunction application to suspend exclusive clause contract, Seoul Court has been collecting all contracts of other singers under SM Entertainment and miraculously, their contract with the agency is completely similar with TVXQ.
SM artists’ contract mostly last for a long period (averagely 10 years), unfair income distribution (50,000,000 won is paid only if the album sold more than 500,000 copies), and penalty termination (3 times of initial investment and 2 times of loss). Many SM idol stars have been in the same shoes as TVXQ for exclusive contract clause.
District Court (first level court) and High Court (second level court) has come to the same conclusion, that the agreement in contract is unfair thus labeled it as “invalid”. However, Supreme Court’s (third level) adjudication has not yet to come. The artist can be said to win the case only if the Supreme Court has agreed to the two court’s adjudication, else it’s not proceed.
CF model Yoo Minho (25) in 2006 had a discord against SM related to exclusive contract as well. Therefore TVXQ’s case in not the first case of an artist having court battle against SM. Even the Yoo Minho’s contract is likely similar with TVXQ contract, which makes it more cliche. Minho’s starting contract period was also close as TVXQ’s, January 3, 2003 (TVXQ is June 30, 2003).
Yoo Minho – SM court battle lasted for 1 year and 6 months in Yoo Minho’s winning with some adjustment clauses, yet she dropped from SM, while the agency influenced the PD of her show to shut down the TV show since she’s no longer worked for SM regardless the good ratings it got.
SM seems to use a standard form in each of its contract therefore it appears that other singes under SM such as Super Junior and SNSD have signed the same contract as TVXQ.

According to the e-mail, BoA’s 7th Japanese album has been cancelled without even an indication of its release on a later date. Does this mean that we may never hear tracks BoA, herself, co-produced?
SM Entertainment seriously needs to make a come back. First, the TVXQ controversy, and now the cancellation of BoA’s album? Maybe this rumored boy-band will mark SM’s comeback into the limelight.

SS501 was on KBS ‘Champagne’ aired on 8th November and leader Kim HyunJoong was featured for the ‘Top 32 Ideal Type WorldCup’ corner where he has to choose his ideal type of woman from the list of female celebrities based just on their looks.
