For the month of April, LG Fashion’s brand HAZZYS will be actively promoting its “Think Green” environmental campaign. The brand ambassadors are actors Kim Bum, Lee Soo Kyung, Kim Hyo Jin, Min Hyo Rin, Kim Ji Suk, and Ki Tae Young, and on a purely superficial note, the shoot is very simple but looks lovely.

►►”Soeul couple” Kim So Eun & Kim Bum has an awkward relationship?

awww…these two were my favorites in “Boys Over Flowers” 😦 every time Jandi and JunPyo act up, I always can find relief watching this couple♥

Actress Kim So Eun has come out and explained why her relationship with Kim Bum has become awkward now.

Kim So Eun will be appearing on the February 18th episode of Happy Together Season 3 to promote her new drama, A Good Day For The Wind To Blow where she was asked about her relationship with Kim Bum. If you didn’t know, Kim So Eun and Kim Bum were a couple in Boys Before Flowers and were coined as the SoEul couple by fans.

Before Boys Before Flowers, they were actually on really good terms with each other as they were both majoring in film studies at Chung-Ang University. As a result, they got along really well with each other during filming and their chemistry showed.

They maintained contact with each other even after filming ended and also collaborated together on several CFs.

Kim So Eun expressed, “After the drama ended, our relationship became kind of awkward because of all the scandals. Although we still have a good relationship like in the past, we couldn’t contact each other in the aftermath of all the scandals. Even when we meet at the tv station, it becomes very awkward between us.”

►►Actor Kim Bum gets sued for 500 million won in damages!

500 million won = $432,500 USD …holy snap that’s a lot of money @_@

Oh and bb, your silver hair looks ridiculous 😦

https://i0.wp.com/i50.tinypic.com/2ecg038.jpg

Kim Bum, one of the stars of the KBS smash hit drama “Boys Over Flowers,” was questioned by prosecutors for about an hour last week over a legal dispute between his former and current agencies, according to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office Thursday.

The summons came after the president of Eyagi Entertainment, identified only as Hwang, Kim’s former agent, filed a damage suit against Kim and his agency KingKong Entertainment for an alleged breach of contract.

Eyagi Entertainment said it signed a contract with Kim in October 2008 to represent him for the next six years and paid him 150 million won, but that the actor cancelled the contract unilaterally around March 2009 when”Boys Over Flowers” was in its final episodes.

Eyagi said Kim has earned nearly 800 million won since he terminated the contract. It filed the suit with a Seoul district court, claiming 500 million in damages.

But KingKong Entertainment denied that a contract violation had occurred.

“It’s not a breach of contract by the actor but a dispute caused in the process of merger and demerger between KingKong Entertainment and Eyagi Entertainment. The contract was cancelled as Eyagi did not keep the promises it made during the merger process,” it said. “We are going to take legal steps.”

The prosecution questioned Eyagi Entertainment’s chief in December. It also summoned KingKong Enertainment’s head, identified only as Lee, on Feb. 1 for questioning.

Kim Bum, born in 1989, made his acting debut in the MBC drama “The Daring Sisters,” and rose to stardom with “Boys Over Flowers.”

►►[PICs] Actor Kim Bum performs live for drama and sings for OST

I heard the drama ratings for “A woman who still wants to marry” is pretty bad :/ I hope Kim Bum will continue to do well no matter what!^0^

Kim Bum plays an indie-band musician in his new drama, MBC’s The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry, and he shows off some of his own guitar-playing skills in this week’s two episodes, to air on the 27th and 28th. The scene was shot on the 23rd in a Hongdae club; Kim performed live, singing and playing guitar with the band.

In addition, he will contribute a track to the drama’s OST called “The Woman Who Cut My Guitar Cord” (which, if you’ve watched the first episode, you’ll know refers to Park Jin-hee’s character; she cut his cord out of frustration in their first encounter when he refused to stop playing per her request). The song was released via online services today, the 27th.

►►[PICs] Kim Bum releases first stills for “The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry”

His long hair…argh makes him looks so much older than BOF days =.=;

Cr: meoluvdenmi@YT

Back in mid-December, it was known that actor Kim Bum would star in a new MBC drama titled “The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry”. This drama is the sequel to the hit 2004 drama “The Woman Who Wants to Marry”. Kim Bum will play a playboy character and have a relationship with actress Park Jin Hee, a woman that’s 12 years older than him. His charm and appeal to noona’s older than him makes him the perfect candidate for the role.

The drama isn’t scheduled to air for another two weeks (January 20th to be exact), but photos from the drama have been released in the past few days.

In 2009, Kim Bum starred in “Boys Before Flowers” and also “Dream”. Boys Over Flower was a major success while Dream was quite disappointing. There was also some mumblings of disappointment with his guest appearance on “High Kick Through the Roof”. Hopefully things can turn around for him in this new drama.

►►Top artist/actor search of 2009 on Nate and Naver

For those who don’t know, Nate and Naver are virtually the two biggest search portals in Korea. So making this chart would mean a lot 😉

Above (Top artist search: [1]2NE1 [2]2PM [3]SNSD [4]After School [5]Kara [6]f(x) [7]Brown Eyed Girls [8]G-Dragon [9]Lee Seung Ki [10]4Minute) (Top actor search: [1]Lee Minho [2]Koo Hye Sun [3]Han Hyo Joo [4]Han Yeh Sul [5]Park Bo Young [6]Lee Jun Ki [7]Kim Bum [8]Yoon Eun Hye [9]Shin Sae Kyung [10]Jang Geun Suk)

Usually, being the most searched celebrity on a search engine shows the fame that a certain person has. Well 2009 wasn’t any different for these headline hoggers.

The most searched artists on Korean search engine and media portal Nate.com in 2009 was the new girl group 2NE1. They debuted with their single “Fire” in May of this year. So in over half a year, they became the most searched artists on Nate. What a big achievement considering the fact that 2PM and SNSD came in second and third respectively.

►►[Interview] Park Shin Hye, “Kim Bum, Go Ara, Kim So Eun all went to act, I was the only one left”

She went to the same college as those three? lol okay that’s my next stalking place alright XD

Part 2

[INTERVIEW] Actress Park Shin-hye (Part II – see part I HERE)

20091027164348002007.jpg

10: This is the first drama you’re appearing in since “Kimchee Radish Cubes” a year and a half ago. The break was relatively long this time considering the fact that you debuted in middle school and had appeared in several dramas and films throughout your high school years.
Park Shin-hye: I had taken only very short breaks after appearing in “Stairway to Heaven” in 2003 so I wanted to take a rest and go to school after “Kimchee”. There were some achievements I made while showing myself to people but I myself had a hard time. I’m still young but I was even younger back then. And if I come to think about it, I was just so happy and was having fun about playing the lead role in a movie when I was in high school but if I think about it now, I think I just went for it without knowing anything. I just had so much fun acting back then, not knowing anything about the reality of the entertainment industry or what TV is about. I sometimes think I must’ve been very stupid or simple-minded. (laugh)

10: I think you were able to be under relatively less stress and have more freedom compared to other celebrities your age because you debuted and spent your teens under singer Lee Seung-hwan’s company, also your former agency Dream Factory.
Park: Lee didn’t like making young people do this and that. He was always under the belief that I would make it even if my ratings were bad so I think I too was able not to be pressured about it. I also believed that I needed to experience everything that people my age to in order to express it in my acting and everyone — my parents, managers and Lee — all supported me in that aspect. No matter how much I would hang out with my friends, go watch baseball, go to the theatres and amusement park, they all believed in me. And that I wouldn’t cause any trouble. I don’t think it’s good to keep myself trapped up too much before I turn 20. No matter how often people recognize me and point at me, I like it that I can be just myself when I’m with my friends. And I think it’s a blessing that I can have people around me who help me to do that.

20091027164351002018.jpg20091027164351002017.jpg

10: You got into Joongang University’s acting major last year and it became a sensation because there are a lot of actors including Go Ara, Kim Bum and Kim So Eun.
Park: All four of us went to our classes so well during our first semester of our first year that people around us thought it was weird. That’s how much we were attached to our school life. Ara was even shooting a drama during that time. And then as Bum and So-eun took leaves to shoot “Boys Over Flowers” and I saw that everyone else was acting, I became a little worried because I was the only one left in school. But I think everyone has a time when they get to do their thing.

►►Kim Bum, Lee Chung Ah + others get sued for breach of contract

Kim Bum and Lee Chung Ah, among others have been served with a lawsuit by their former management agency on the 8th for breaching their contracts.

https://i0.wp.com/i46.tinypic.com/jqrd4k.jpg

I Entertainment had filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central Court on the 8th, requesting for compensation in damages from Kim Bum, Lee Chung Ah, Yoo Yeon Suk and Kim Bum’s manager, totaling to 1.145 billion won (about 995,ooo USD).

According to a representative from I Entertainment, Kim Bum and Lee Chung Ah had signed a 6 and 3 year contract with them respectively last year. But from March 2009, Kim Bum and the others broke off contact with them and started working with other companies on dramas and CFs.

They expressed that because of this breach of contract by them, the company has suffered grave financial losses and are thus seeking for compensation.

And for breaching the contract, they are asking 500 million won from Kim Bum, 160 million won from Lee Chung Ah, 36 million won from Yoo Yeon Suk and 440 million won from Kim Bum’s manager.

The Seoul Central Court has already accepted the lawsuit filed by I Entertainment and will be processing the case shortly.

This shock news comes just days before Kim Bum’s new movie, Flight begins airing in cinemas on 10th December.

►►Kim Bum, “Can I leave to go on a date with [KARA’s] Goo Hara?”

T/N: My Korean friends told me there were rumors about Kim Bum and Hara dating so I had to go look it up. It was even one of the first searches to pop up on Naver.

https://i0.wp.com/i35.tinypic.com/35i8vvt.jpg

On the October 31st broadcast of MBC’s “Infinite Challenge” (Yoo Jae Suk, Park Myung Soo, Noh Hong Chul, Jung Joon Ha, Jung Hyung Don, Jun Jin, Gil), Jung Joon Ha’s guest Kim Bum picked Park Myung Soo’s guest Goo Hara as his favorite member of Kara.

This broadcast gathered guests who offered to help rice farmers during the harvest.

Thus, Jung Joon Ha called previously mentioned Kim Bum; Gil called Epik High’s Tablo; Jun Jin called fellow Shinhwa member Lee Minwoo; Park Myung Soo called Kara’s Park Gyuri; and Noh Hung Chul asked for Bada’s help.

The first guest to appear was Kim Bum.

Kim Bum, who knows Jung Joon Ha through the sitcom “Unstoppable High Kick,” appeared in a clean black wardrobe with styled hair but then changed into farmer clothes and orange boots. He was complimented by all the members for reaping rice well on his first try.

Kara’s members then came, doing the “Mister” butt dance. After the song ended, Yoo Jae Suk asked Goo Hara if she saw the sign as she came in. Goo Hara replied that she didn’t, and Yoo Jae Suk said the nearby neighborhood was “Guha-Ri.” He then made a pun, “Save us~ Save the rice farmers~” (Goo Hara means to save in Korean) which was met with laughter.

Kim Bum, who enjoyed Kara’s appearance on the show, was asked by Noh Hung Chul who his favorite Kara member was. He whispered to Yoo Jae Suk that it was Goo Hara, who did not hide her excitement at being chosen.

Kim Bum then expressed his feelings by saying, “Can I leave to go on a date with Goo Hara?”

Also, as Kim Bum was harvesting, he approached Goo Hara and Noh Hung Chul pointed them out, saying “Kim Bum and Goo Hara stuck together! He was clearly on the other side but he pushed his way toward Hara.” The mood got even livelier and Yoo Jae Suk yelled, “This rice field is just so animated~” and gave the weary members reason to go on.

On another note, Jung Joon Ha had colitis but shot this episode anyway, which got the netizens’ attention.

►►TOP & Kwon Sang-woo take over Kim Bum & Yoo Seung Ho’s spots for movie “71″

The older guys are gonna take over the younger ones’ spots…let’s see if this comes out good 😉

The movie “71” had first caught my interest for starring young actors Kim Bum and Yoo Seung-ho as student soldiers in wartime, but problems arose when the movie encountered budget issues and the like. The stars dropped out and the production halted for an extended period. Now, the project has changed production companies and been revived with a new title and new stars: TOP and Kwon Sang-woo will be meeting onscreen as the two leads of Into the Gunfire [포화 속으로].

The old title referred to a real incident during the Korean war when North Korean soldiers had invaded and 71 South Korean students had banded together to defend their home (in Pohang, Gyeongsang-do). Kim Bum’s former character had risen to lead the students in the pivotal battle.

With this new casting, Kwon Sang-woo plays a man who enlists in the military after being suspected in a murder and volunteers for the student forces; TOP plays another, more junior student soldier. Actors Cha Seung-won (City Hall) and Kim Seung-woo (IRIS) are in contention for other roles: Cha as a North Korean officer and Kim as a lieutenant leading the 71 young soldiers. Directing is Lee Jae-hwan of A Moment to Remember and writing is Lee Man-hee of A Turtle Runs.

(I’ve made the joke before, but this time I’m honestly perplexed: Does Kwon Sang-woo really not know what his image and/or generation is? I’m not saying that a man can’t take leading roles with younger actors, because Kwon can totally still do the sexy leading man thing. But the role in question is of a student and had previously been filled by Kim Bum — thirteen years younger is a big leap, even if the character has been tweaked. I’m puzzled.)

The film will begin shooting at the end of November or early December, and plans for a mid-2010 release.
