SBS will be the first end-of-year music festival this year with their schedule set for December 29th (since KBS has not announced their line-up yet, I am assuming theirs would be held on the 30th, in between SBS and MBC). In fact, the only thing I know for sure about KBS Gayo Daejun is that YG Family said that they will not be attending…

►►KARA quits MAMA along with other artists from SM, J.Tune, Cube, Pledis, etc.
Is anyone actually attending this year’s MAMAs 2010?
The Mnet Asian Music Awards began to run into trouble this year starting with their controversial move from Korea to Macau.
Korean broadcast companies such as SBS, KBS and MBC argued the move saying that artists would have to choose between the MAMAs or their Korean end of the year show because of the timing.
DSP Entertainment says that KARA’s busy schedule is keeping the group from attending both the 2010 MAMAs as well as the 2010 Melon Music Awards.
All of the other artists have also cited busy schedules as their reason for pulling out.

From taking a fall during a performance at Music Core tospraining her right arm during a CF shoot, Seungyeon of girl group KARA hasn’t had the best of luck lately.
Unfortunately, things don’t seem to be turning around for her soon as netizens unearthed her photo ID… from the past. Dun dun dun!
►►BEAST makes their own ‘Mystery’ MV dressed as girls and Indians + SNSD and KARA to visit
On the third episode of the MTV show ‘B2ST Almighty’, BEAST members will be releasing a music video that the members personally scripted out and filmed in response to the fans wishes to see the ‘Mystery’ music video.
‘Mystery’ is a song about a desperate guy who can’t deal with the farewell of a lover. BEAST members, thinking of the loving and painful memories with the curry, made a shocking and comical version of the video.
It will be a story about one man, who often looks at the window reminiscing of his love, making curry to lessen his sadness. However, this man would end up going into hysteria because he can’t fight back the sadness.
Especially, in the ending, there will a scene where the main male lead changes into Indian style clothing and start dancing will a Bollywood style dance because he can’t hide his emotions. This scene has been chosen by the BEAST members as the best scene.

A netizen posted up some photos on an Internet portal site bulletin board recently, and the photos featured the 2 singers working on the streets in normal causal clothes.
The photos were said to have been taken in ApGuJung. The 2, known to be really good friends, looked comfortable hanging out as can be seen from the photos.
Meanwhile, during the Nicole’s previous appearance on SBS ‘Strong Heart’ aired on 23rd last month, she commented, “Key is the best of all my best friends”.
KARA’S NICOLE WAS STUDYING FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL EXIT EXAM
We reported earlier that Kara’s Nicole and SHINee’s Key had been spotted together in public.
Fans had become curious as to what Nicole was studying because she had a textbook. It’s now been revealed that she was studying for the high school exit exam.
A representative from DSP Media revealed, “Nicole is currently studying for the high school exit exam. However, she is not studying for the national Korean exam but is prepping for the American high school exit exam.”
And although Nicole was born in 1991 and should have graduated last year, her idol career most likely prevented her from focusing her attention on her studies.
SM Entertainment added, “Key and Nicole are so close that they fool around even on camera. To our knowledge, the two meet often to talk and drink tea.”
“Drinking tea”, is that what young hip people call it nowadays?

Forbes Korea reveals the top 20 hardworking idols for 2009
Forbes Korea has released their yearly survey. This time they ranked the most hardworking idols from 2009-2010. After releasing his solo album and concerts and at the same time promoting with his group – Big Bang’s leader G-Dragon tops this year’s chart as the Most Hardworking Idol. Big Bang’s Daesung was also included in the ranking at #13 for his appearances on variety shows.

KARA’s Park Gyuri appointed as Shim Shim Ta Pa DJ
KARA’s leader, Park Gyuri has been appointed as the successor to the outgoing Kim Shin Young as the new DJ ofShim Shim Ta Pa with Super Junior’s Shindong.
A Shim Shim Ta Pa staff confirmed this news on the 21st stating that Gyuri was excited to be taking on this new challenge and have a chance to be closer with fans through radio. The staff added that Gyuri had been picked because of her wittiness that she shows on the variety shows that she is on.
Gyuri’s first broadcast has yet to be fixed yet.

Kara’s Craze in Japan
KARA, 4Minute ‘Korea’s idol Groups Gaining Popularity?’
Not only in Korea the idol groups, KARA and 4Minute, gaining much popularity, but they have started to create some sort of craze in Japan too.
Earlier this year, Kara opened their first showcase at Akasaka, Tokyo, Japan. In an official press conference with Japanese media over 100 media reporters and representatives of about 4,000 fans gathered for the showcase. Especially on that day, the most popular Japanese comedian “Gekidan Hitoriga” also attended the showcase and he even received autographs from KARA at the end of the showcase. His appearance attracted more public attention.
4minute is also set to debut in Japan next month with single ‘Muzik’. Universal Music Japan will be in charge of 4minute’s japan’s activities promotion. 4Minute was mentioned as ‘talented newcomer’ in Japanese Billboard online.
So far, only two Korea’s Male Idol groups like Big Bang and TVXQ, are most active, success and very popular in Japan. Girl groups still seem a little difficult to gather attention, unlike those two male groups. However, these two Korean Girl Idol groups might follow up too as it’s started to create some sort of craze in Japan.

►►Official line-up list for Dream Concert 2010 revealed
We reported earlier about the tentative lineup for the upcoming Dream Concert 2010 and the finalized list has been announced recently.
Dream Concert is undoubtedly an event of epic proportions for kpop fans – with nearly twenty of Korea’s hottest artists performing on one stage in front of an audience that’s 40,000 members strong. For 2010, Dream Concert has been scheduled to take place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium next month on May 22nd, and will be taped for future broadcast by SBS.
