►►Kim Hyun Joong and Han Hyo Joo grab Popularity Awards

Kim Hyun Joong and Han Hyo Joo have been awarded the male and female popularity award at 2010 MBC Acting Awards Ceremony.

Both of them earned the honor of being awarded with male/female popularity award at 2010 MBC Acting Awards held on 30-Dec at Ilsan MBC Dream Center.

Han HyoJoo said “I really didn’t expect this award. Popularity award is an award that is voted by viewers so it is even more meaningful. Thank you for loving ‘Dong Yi’. It is a huge blessing to be doing something I wanted to do while winning awards and being loved. I am thankful to receive overwhelming love and I will do my best.”

Kim HyunJoong said in brief “I would like to attribute this glory to fans as it is an award given by netizens.”

Idol group SS501 member Kim HyunJoong caused a stir last year with ‘Boys Over Flowers’, and 1 year later returned with ‘Mischievous Kiss’ which is again originated from comic. Kim HyunJoong acts as a genius in the drama capturing the hearts of female viewers. Even though the viewership rating is on the low side, overseas copyrights were sold out and even youtube special episodes were being created, making it up to its name as a hallyu drama.

Han HyoJoo acted in period drama ‘Dong Yi’, the highest viewership rating in MBC this year. After the huge success of SBS ‘Shinning Inheritance’, this is the first time Han HyoJoo appears as the only female lead, SookBin ChoiSshi, where she received good appraisals for potraying the life story of this tragic lady turning the pains into love.

This year’s competition for popularity award includes Kim Hyun Joong, Yoo Seung Ho, Lee Min Ho, Lee Sun Kyun, Jung Jun Ho, Ji Jin Hee and Gong Hyo Jin, Kim Nam Ju, Kim Hye Su, Seo Woo, Son Ye Jin, Han Hyo Joo. Last year’s winners were Lee Jun Ki and Seo Woo.
