YG Family members Big Bang, 2NE1, and Psy had a joint photoshoot together in the December 2011 issue of Arena Magazine. Exciting enough? I think so!
K-Pop is spreading globally and some astute Ukrainian netizens recently noticed that the MV for Ukrainian group Время и Стекло / Time and Glass looked very familiar to Big Bang’s MV for their Japanese single ‘Tell Me Goodbye’, which was released back in May.
Now Kpop fans (especially VIP’s) are getting pissed because of course, Big Bang is Big Bang and no other group can compare to them and whatever. But I find it funny how Kpop artists used to plagiarize other foreign artists and now they’re being plagiarized themselves…what a turn.
Interesting…I came across a netizen’s article on FEMALE CELEBRITIES and their dark circles of humiliation…and at the end, Big Bang’s Seungri popped up. Pretty sure it was intentional but whatever, gave me a good surprise ;)
Other than that, it’s a pretty good list with numerous of pics of female K-celebs who, as the netizen say, either need a lot of sleep or has a bad liver. LOL.
Fans have been anticipating this month as early as the beginning of April due to the fierce competition between the artists that returned in April and those that’ll be making a splash this month. We’ve already got Rain, Lee Hyori, 2PM and more duking it out on the music charts, but it’s only getting hotter from here!

Big Bang released a batch of BSX clothing advertisement photos and CFs earlier in 2010. On May 7th, more pics and a new promo vid have surfaced!
Big Bang member, Daesung came out as a supportive force for singer Lee Hyori and her April activities.
On May 7th according to agengy officials MNETMEDIA, Daesung appeared on KBS’s 2TV “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” along with Lee Hyori which will be broadcasted on the upcoming 11th of May.
Lee Hyori’s new album “H-Logic” contains a track named “How Did We Get” featuring Daesung. The two will perform this song live together for the first time on the upcoming episode of ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook“.
Daesung who is the member for the cast of Song Jina’s new drama “What’s Up” and has acting practices although they’re not an official activity, still came out to make a special appearance for Lee Hyori on ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook”.
On the first of May, Big Bang’s Daesung confessed that he had cosmetic surgery on SBS “Haha Mong Show.”
He had a facial injury due to his car accident last summer. Daesung said, “Before surgery, I needed to take pictures of my face before surgery to show the before and after. I thought I’d look the same as Jang Dong Gun, and the doctor was looking at the pictures trying to make it the same.” He laughed.
After the surgery, there wasn’t much of a different, so he was disappointed. Daesung says something about it. “There wasn’t any dissatisfaction, but I was a little disappointed in my eyes, nose, and mouth.”
Meanwhile, during the broadcast, including Haha, MC Mong, Kim Shin Young, Big Bang Seungri, Daesung, Girls Generation, Hyo Yeon and Sooyoung, Brown Eyed Girls, Gain and Narsha, SHINee’s Key, MBLAQ’s Gio, and many other korean celebrities attended the show, attracting millions of viewers.
WOW! He had plastic surgery?! lolwut?!
LOL! The Disney movie ‘How to train your Dragon’ has been punk’d by fans into ‘How to train your G-Dragon’…starring G-Dragon and his very own GaHo! XD
The three SNSD members were addressing Big Bang’s Seungri and at the end also Daesung on the ‘Haha Mong’ Show!
Yuri is rapping how Seungri is in the same college as her and that he promised her (in an interview) that he will introduce her to guys on the campus but he still hasn’t done that. Then Sooyoung says that Yuri has been waiting a long time already for him to do that. Sooyoung also tells SeungRi that even though he is a sunbae in terms of debuting, but now he’s her hoobae at college and she was also teasing Yuri that she is her hoobae (while Yuri is older) and then Yuri kept on saying sunbaenim to SY. Yoona was saying something about being friends with Seungri (since he is the same age as her) She also said something about Seungri greeting her and then Yuri asked why doesn’t he greet you?
Then Sooyoung said something to Daesung. She just said Daesung and then she corrected herself and said Daesung shi. XD She said she can’t speak informal to him (cuz before she was talking informal to Seungri but it’s ok since they are the same age).
Seungri’s busy life in the entertainment industry meant he didn’t get the chance to date properly. His head was full of thoughts like ‘I’m busy as hell, how would I ever have time for a girlfriend?’ Even when he met girls who appealed to him, he would think ‘Should I text her?’ ‘Maybe I should talk to her first’, but he never went past that point.
“I don’t like breaking up.”
Like the rest of us, Seungri also has loving yet embarrassing, cruel memories of his first love. She was a model student who he met back in Gwangju when he was a part of the dance team ‘Episode 1’.
“I saw her while I was dancing, she just stood right out to me.”
She was just some girl who happened to pass by Seungri’s show after watching a movie with her friend. Seungri fell for her at first sight. And maybe it was destiny; her friend later approached him to ask for a photo. Seungri didn’t let this chance slip.
“You should come into the photo too.”
So his first, innocent young love started off like that. Seungri and his “cute and innocent” first girlfriend started dating secretly.
“Even then, we dated in secret. Our dance team was celebrity status in Gwangju, remember? (laughs)”
After debuting as a part of Big Bang, Seungri was so happy that it almost seemed like a dream. But he soon experienced a ‘slump’ too.
“From some point in time, I found that I couldn’t control my facial expressions on broadcasts. I hated having to smile when I was feeling pissed, and being serious when I was really happy…”
Seungri was at that age where he should’ve been expressing the passion of your youth while going through both positive and negative experiences in order to mature. Being trapped in a square box called the television, he started feeling frustrated.
He started showing his true feelings whenever he was asked an uncomfortable question or put in a situation that angered him.
“I was insanely scolded by G-Dragon. I cried my eyes out afterwards. Why couldn’t I even show what I was feeling? Cos it was my job? I said I couldn’t do it anymore.”
President Yang Hyun Seok approached Seungri during his hardest time and reasoned with him.
“If you can’t even control yourself, how are you going to move the hearts of others?”
The April 2010 issue of Thailand’s magazine ‘Knock Knock’ features the amazing boys of Big Bang! And despite the shiny pink lip gloss, I think they look pretty good :-)
So where’s the person who recognised Seungri’s talents?
“They didn’t tell me to come or anything but I just turned up at YG to audition. I followed Director Park Dae Hong, who had been helping me in Gwangju. When I went, they taped me singing and dancing. I thought to myself ‘Let’s really go for it this time’ and went nuts. I threw off my shirt and stuff. (laughs)”
Seungri tried his best to show his talents, and maybe this passion was able to move people’s hearts. This time, YG Entertainment’s President Yang Hyun Seok, who was watching the video live from the storey above, recognised his talents.
“President Yang is coming down.”
When he heard those words, Seungri thought his heart was going to burst. He forced himself to pretend to be calm, but it occurred to him that he couldn’t let this critical chance slip.
“I watched the video. You’re really talented. 50 points for singing and 50 for dancing. Do you know Jiyong and Youngbae? Hmm..they’re these kids who’ve been training here for about six years now, try catch up with them. Come from tomorrow on.”(President Yang Hyun Seok)
Big Bang member G-Dragon recently released the DVD for his Shine A Light concert and it’s filled with a lot of funny videos and clips. Here’s one of the better ones included in the DVD. This skit features G-Dragon and Seungri and it’s subbed in English courtesy of IceAlarcon, so all you can watch it! I won’t ruin it for you, so watch it below.

On his me2day, G-dragon uploaded a picture of himself lying on the floor of the cinema where his concert promotion movie ‘Shine a light’ is premiered. He was covered by posters with his fingers showing ‘V’.
This photo gained 5039 comments from GD fans.
Here is the trailer of the movie:
Big Bang’s G-Dragon attended his Shine A Light concert premiere yesterday. Aren’t you curious what he was wearing?
G-Dragon wore a top from Givenchy’s Spring/Summer 2010 Menswear collectionwhich was shown in Paris last June. With a splash of golden studded stars, G-Dragon completed the look with a golden belt, black skinnies and white loafers. In my opinion, this is one of the less over-the-top outfits of his. Don’t get me wrong, it looks great on him, but we all know that his dress sense can be rather outrageous… right?
This is not the first time G-Dragon was seen wearing Givenchy. It’s undeniable that G-dragon is a fan of the brand. Besides that, Big Bang and 2NE1 have also been seen sporting garments from Givenchy.
It was also said that the staff at Givenchy Paris showroom had a picture of G-Dragonwearing Givenchy on their computer desktop.
Be sure to check out the fan cams and pictures from the event here.

Earlier today, Big Bang fans were rejoicing with Hallelujahas we reported Big Bang would participate in the Japanese OST for IRIS. The new ballad track is titled Tell Me Goodbyeand a preview of the track has been released.
Sounds pretty awesome from the preview but will it be as good as Hallelujah?
Last year, IRIS was an overwhelming success in Korea with viewership consistently in the 30% range. Japanese TV Station TBS paid millions for the rights to broadcast the drama in Japan and many top Japanese actors and actresses have signed on to do the voice overs for the drama. IRIS will be the first Korean drama to air on a major Japanese network in prime time. In the past, many Korean dramas were delegated to either cable stations or daytime TV but IRIS is getting special treatment. The drama is scheduled to begin airing on April 21st.

Big Bang’s leader G-Dragon has revealed some new information about his group’s upcoming comeback.
He revealed this during his concert movie premiere on April 15th. G-Dragon said, “I’ve been working on Big Bang’s album. We are looking to release it in August or September.”
Can you guys believe it’s already been almost four years since Big Bang has debuted? Time really flies. If they make a comeback in August, that would be their fourth anniversary and certainly something worth looking forward to.
G-Dragon continued, “Since the members are working on solo albums, our album might get postponed. But Big Bang is hoping to work in August or September because that’s when we always promote and make a comeback.”
He finished off by saying, “We already have many songs. We will pick the good ones and put it in the album.” They really like to promote in the summer, don’t they?

150 years ago, the average American worker worked over 3000 hours annually. Today that number has dropped to around 1777 hours annually. South Korea is known for it’s hard workers as South Korea has the longest working hours amongst the high-income OECD economies at just under 2400 hours annually. It seems idols in Korea fit this trend as they also work many hours annually.
“Are idols working all year long?“
This has been popping into the heads of many fans lately and it seems that there’s enough evidence on the k-pop scene to support this thought.
From the early 1990’s to around 2002, it was rare to see idols work so much. When an idol group or singer ended their live promotions, it was difficult to see the artists until their next comeback. That is now obviously not the case with the proliferation of the internet and increase of technology. In addition, members from idol groups continue to stay in the media long after their promotions have ended.
For example, Big Bang has been busy promoting like crazy in Japan and yet T.O.Pfound the time to star in the spy action drama IRIS. Now the group is in production for their comeback later this year and the fierce rapper is still acting as he will star in the film 71-Into the Fire.
After closing their promotions, most idol groups make their comebacks within a month or two but The Brown Eyed Girls are one of the special cases as they’ve stayed low key since their last single Sign. Even so, both Ga-In and Narsha are keeping busy with reality programs We Got Married and Invincible Youth, respectively. Not to mention that both girls are busy in production for their solo debuts!
2AM is currently in the midst of live promotions but ssanti leader Jo Kwon has been appearing on the show We Got Married opposite of Ga-In as a fictional married couple. Seulong has also just begun his acting career through the new dramaPersonal Taste.
2PM is also busy with Taecyeon appearing on Family Outing as a regular and also starring on the new hit drama Cinderella’s Sister. Wooyoung, Nichkhun andChansung are also busy in the media. They also have a comeback coming soon as well.
BEAST also had their fair share of hard working members as Doo Joon was in Kenya with the Danbi team and Gi kwang had starred in the hit sitcom Hick Kick Through The Roof.
Of course these are only a few examples of idols in the media.
Years ago, most idol groups had only 3 to 5 members. Now there’s a growing trend where many have 7 or more members (ie. Super Junior, SNSD, U-KISS, After School etc.). Fans speculate that because there are so many members in a group, the companies compensate for the “impersonal feel” by having them appear on various programs. To get to know these idols better, all year long the idols appear on variety and reality programs and expand their careers from music into television and movie acting. But even through the craze of it all our favorite idols seem to keep on smiling and laughing, thankful for the opportunities that come their way.
There’s some with the mentality of “Hard Work Never Killed Anybody” and there’s others with “Hard Work Never Killed Anybody… but why try?” What do you guys think, should the idols take it down a notch or continue to do as they do as long as they’re happy?

During the recording of upcoming SBS pilot reality program Haha Mong Show, Big Bang’s Daesung admonished the female idols who had selected him as their ideal type.
At one point or another, members of the top girl groups such as After School’s UEE,Kara’s Kang Jiyoung and T-ara’s Hyomin confessed that Daesung was their ideal type of guy.
However, Daesung made a depressing revelation about the truth behind the cameras.
He said, “The girls who chose me as their ideal type were all talk; they don’t approach me at all. Even when I meet them at broadcasting stations and greet them enthusiastically, they just walk past me.”
Daesung added, “I think that they picked me as their ideal type because, after looking at my face, I was a safe choice,” sending those on set into laughter.
It makes you wonder if SNSD’s Sooyoung, who recently admitted that she wanted to get closer with Daesung, will follow the same route.
The episode will air on the 17th.
