►►2PM being scouted by top Japanese companies – to be the next DBSK?
‘Aiming to be the 2nd DBSK!’
It has been revealed that the top Japanese labels have their eye on 2PM.
On the 22nd at Mnet’s ‘M! Countdown’ and the 23rd at the pre-recording for KBS2 ‘Music Bank,’ representatives from Japanese labels Sony, EMI, and AVEX were present. They visited Korea to watch the passionate comeback performances of 2PM’s ‘Without U.’ Following this, they closely observed 2PM’s performances at the ‘Anycall Corby Family Festival’ on April 24th at the Seoul Olympic Fencing Stadium.
Japanese label representatives are interested in 2PM because of the charisma that shows through their strong performances and manly beauty, matching their ‘beast idols’ nickname. They uniformly agreed, “There is no male group in Japan that shows that kind of style” and it has become known that they saw in 2PM a high potential for success [in Japan]. It also appears that they have calculated the need to look for new Korean stars that can replace the great popularity of the recently-dissolved DBSK in Japan.
2PM’s company JYP Entertainment revealed that 2PM is indeed in the middle of advancing plans for Japan. Fans are interested in seeing whether 2PM’s advancement into Japan will result in their being ‘the 2nd DBSK.’
